| Description: This is short section of Wales Coast Path from Aberystwyth over Constitution Hill down to Clarech Bay. It offers fine views over the university town, ascending a path adjacent to the Funicular Cliff Railway built in 1896, the second largest in Britain. At the top of Constitution Hill is the biggest Camera Obscura in the world built in 1985 to replace the one built in 1880 which disappeared in 1920s. It has a 14" lens which projects images from outside into the darkened gallery beneath giving views over a large area of Wales. |
